F1 24 may not have been the smash hit with players that previous versions of the game have been, but Codemasters has maintained its efforts of providing fans with special items. The Mercedes Singapore GP livery should be among them in the coming weeks and months.

Mercedes & Petronas

The Mercedes F1 team has had Petronas as a main sponsor for over a decade now, and that partnership is taking center stage at the Singapore Grand Prix as Petronas celebrates 50 years of operations.

The Malaysian oil giant no longer has a home Grand Prix since Sepang last hosted Formula 1 in 2017, but Singapore neighbors the country and with its night race offers quite the spectacle for a special livery.

As a result, Mercedes will drop the traditional silver from their current livery and embrace Petronas' turquoise.

Will the livery be in F1 24?

F1 24 has added plenty of special cosmetic items through its life, and previous titles have fully embraced special liveries. However, Codemasters usually need team permission and cooperation to get a special livery into their game.

These one-off liveries, especially ones that promote a specific sponsor, can cause issues with legal agreements that other sponsors have to ensure they still appear in game for example.

So there will be plenty of hoops to jump through, but we've had lots of special liveries before and this one would be great to see in the game.

With Season 3 content already confirmed, we might have to wait a while before this livery enters the game.

Unless Codemasters want to surprise everyone...
