F1 Manager 2022 looks stunning in first race gameplay screenshot

If you’re an F1 fan, F1 Manager 2022 should be one of your most anticipated games of the year along with Codemasters' F1 22.

Developed by Frontier Developments, F1 Manager 2022 takes you out of the driver’s seat and puts you in the role of Team Principal. Every decision you make behind the pit wall matters.

A recent behind the scenes video gave us a tour of the in-depth management options, from scouting for new drivers to upgrading facilities and managing budgets. But this is just one facet of F1 Manager 2022.

Frontier Developments has been publicising F1 Manager 2022’s “broadcast quality presentation.” Most management games simulate races with a top-down view, but Frontier has gone the extra mile.

The team has modelled every circuit of the 2022 season using satellite data and reproduced the real-life camera angles you see TV broadcasts. This makes the races more engaging as you issue commands to your driver.

Frontier hasn’t shown any race day gameplay yet, but a new work-in-progress screenshot shows how races will look in F1 Manager 2022.

Shared on social media, the screenshot shows a Red Bull car hurtling around the Baku circuit in the rain from the driver’s perspective. Players can also toggle through multiple camera views during races to get the best view of the action.

From the car models to the rain effects, the visuals would look impressive for a racing simulation, let alone a management game.

Frontier has also teased that more news will be shared next week, so we could finally see some gameplay footage.
