Formula 1 and racing game fans are in for a treat this year with F1 Manager 2022 on PS5.
With a wealth of team management options and broadcast-style race day presentation, F1 Manager 2022 is shaping up to be the ultimate racing management sim.
F1 Manager 2022 PS5
As confirmed by the game's announcement trailer, F1 Manager is coming to PlayStation 5. We also know that the release date for F1 Manager is 30 August. That's the same for every console and all around the world.
Now, as for the gameplay on PS5, we don't know much yet. Typically, games on PS5 can run in full 4K and 60 frames per second. This is most likely going to be the case for the PS5 version as well.
PS5 gameplay
Ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix, Frontier Developments has revealed the first F1 Manager 2022 PS5 gameplay. This is the first time the F1 Manager has been shown running on consoles.
Sadly, the footage shared on the game's official Twitter page is brief with no sound. Fans were worried the lack of F1 Manager 2022 PS5 gameplay meant the game would be compromised on consoles.
Happily, the graphics and performance appear to be on par with the PC version, which will be a relief for PS5 players. The console version also has the same menus as the PC version, but the controls have been built from the ground up since you'll be navigating with analogue sticks instead of a mouse.
Trophy list
For PlayStation trophy hunters, F1 Manager 2022 has 27 trophies to collect on PS5 and PS4 including a Platinum trophy to increase the game's longevity.
You can find a full F1 Manager 2022 trophy list here.
Making the right calls
F1 Manager 2022 is accessible to anyone, but those who want to dive deeper can create their own custom strategies that can make the difference between success and failure, from choosing the right tyres according to weather conditions to planning pit stop windows.
You'll need to make the right calls and react to racing incidents that cause red or yellow flags. Experienced players can also develop new car parts and add new components to make your car more competitive and beat the competition.
With detailed driver face scans, faithfully recreated circuits, and broadcast-style presentation with authentic camera angles and replays during races, F1 Manager 2022 will immerse you into the world of F1.
What about PS4?
PS5 isn't the only PlayStation that will have F1 Manager though, the PS4 will also get it. Again, we don't know the specs for what this game will be able to achieve. However, we'd expect it to be in 60 frames per second and full 1080p HD.
Release date
As for the release date, F1 Manager 2022 races onto PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 along with Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One on 30 August.
Preordering the game also grants you five days early access on 25 August to get your Team Principal journey started.
