With just over a week until the release of F1 Manager 2022, Frontier Developments has released the final Feature Focus video. After the last video showed how you can prepare for qualifying and practice sessions, the final Feature Focus video is about the all-important race day where decisions you make from the pit wall can make the difference between a race win or loss.
It’s time for race day
One of F1 Manager 2022’s most talked about features is its broadcast-quality presentation. Whereas other management games typically show the action in a top-down view, F1 Manager 2022 lets you view the race from multiple angles, from onboard cameras to TV-style trackside shots. Alternatively, you can also switch to a classic overhead map view.
As the race unfolds, you’ll need to monitor data such as lap times from other drivers, tyre wear, engine condition, and fuel levels. Meanwhile, you’ll also see important live information such as track temperatures, grip levels, and other driver positions.
Just as in real-life F1, races in F1 Manager 2022 are unpredictable. Racing incidents such as a crash can shuffle the grid, leading to yellow or red flags.
As a Team Principal, you’ll need to react to these incidents and adjust your race strategy accordingly – do you take advantage of a race incident and sneak in an unscheduled pit stop during a safety car?
Changing weather conditions can also affect your race strategy, as equipping the right tyres for the conditions is crucial.
How you react to these unpredictable moments with the decisions you make affects the outcome of the race, from adjusting fuel levels and ERS, to managing tyre usage by instructing drivers to push hard or stay off the curbs.
