Two Formula 1 games are coming out this summer, and F1 Manager 2023 could be the biggest of them. Plenty of improvements to the game have already been announced by developers Frontier, but now there is an official release date.

Along with knowing when we can play, there is also a new game mode for F1 Manager 2023 that will allow players to jump into races quickly as well as challenge them to overcome scenarios.

Race replay brings scenarios to F1 Manager 2023

New game modes can often fall flat when the title is so focused on one style of play. However, Frontier is bringing in a mode that we think everyone will love: Race Replay.

This mode will feature two options that follow real-world events. The first is called Starting Grid and will let you take control of a team on race day that uses the grid from the real-world counterpart. Maybe you can get Lando Norris through turn 2 in Spain without a broken front wing, or push Checo Perez onto the podium from the back of the Monaco grid!

The second scenario, Race Moments, will really challenge players. With these scenarios, you will take control of a specific team part-way through the real Grand Prix and have a specific objective to achieve before you take the chequered flag.

After every Formula 1 race, a new Starting Grid and Race Moment will be added to the game, giving you the chance to fix Ferrari's strategy, drag Nyck de Vries up the grid, or just salvage someone's race after an unfortunate event.

Go on board like never before

When F1 Manager first released last year a lot of the focus was on making you feel like you were actually on an F1 pit wall. With realistic TV angles and onboard shots where the game looked more like a Sky F1 broadcast than a video game. Well, now Frontier is going one step further with a new visor cam.

We've seen visor cams, or "driver's eye" as it was called in Formula E, used throughout F1 and it is particularly awesome at street tracks like Monaco to give a real sense of the speed and precision that Formula 1 requires.

Well, F1 Manager 2023 will now let you use that visor cam angle in the game, offering yet another step of immersion into the world of Formula 1.

This won't be a huge addition for some players, but there will be others who will play every race in this angle. We think it will be particularly great for race starts and also for watching pitstops.

F1 Manager 2023 release date

We finally have an official F1 Manager 2023 release date, and it is MUCH earlier than last year. Players will be able to get their Team Principal journey started on 31 July.

That's nearly a full month earlier than last year, and even more when you throw in the early access. Those buying the Deluxe Edition will get four days of early access and an exclusive Scenarios pack, which promises to give players unique challenges to tackle.

The launch is described as "digital" for 31 July on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, and Xbox One, with "a physical release for all console versions to follow."

What this means is that you will not be able to buy a physical disc copy for console on 31 July. That's definitely a shame and will turn some players off the game entirely. It also means you will have to buy digitally if you want the Deluxe Edition.

F1 Manager 2023 will cost £44.99/$54.99/€54.99 on every platform, with the Deluxe Edition coming in at £54.99/$64.99/€64.99.
