The Mexican Grand Prix may have had a predictable winner, but there was a surprise further down the grid. After a mediocre performance at COTA, all eyes were on Daniel Ricciardo heading into the Mexican Grand Prix. With rumours swirling regarding the future of Sergio Perez, it was up to the Australian driver to stake a claim for the second Red Bull seat.

Perez crashing out on the first corner definitely helped Ricciardo’s case, but his own performance was one to behold too. Starting in fourth, Ricciardo finished in an incredibly impressive seventh place.

Not much more could be expected from Ricciardo, however this week’s F1 Manager 2023 Race Moment tasks players with taking Ricciardo even higher up the grid. Starting just after the red flag resulting from Kevin Magnussen’s unfortunate crash, Ricciardo’s Return challenges you to catch George Russell and maybe even finish higher.

The official description for Ricciardo’s Return is as follows:

“After a mid-race restart, Ricciardo and Tsunoda are P6 & P8... In the final stint, with Russell on degrading medium tyres, can Ricciardo catch him and steal a sensational finish at the Mexican Grand Prix?”

With the popularity of Formula 1 growing like never before, bringing the first official licensed F1 management game seemed like an easy win, but as it turns out it’s been anything but a charge off the grid.
