F1 Manager 2024 second Feature Focus video has dropped. This series highlights the new and exciting features coming to the series this year.
This second video dives into the mental side of Formula 1, showing how drivers and staff can be affected by on and off-track events. This mentality can then impact the team in ways players will have to adapt to during their careers.
Let’s take a look at the Mentality Hub Feature Focus video for F1 Manager 2024.
Managing mentality
Once again narrated by P1’s Matt Gallagher, the second F1 Manager 2024 Feature Focus video showcases the new driver mentality system. Every action now has a consequence, with each team member’s mentality and morale affected.
This can range from one of your drivers feeling disillusioned by their on-track performances to your designer elated by a recent win. Every change in the team will impact mentality, and it is important to keep both drivers and staff happy.
The Feature Focus shows how the mentality system gives every team member their unique personality. Each team member has three key elements that affect their mentality.
These are their personal situation (performance and contract happiness), team performance (in individual races and across the season), and their relationship with and opinion of you.
If a driver performs badly on track, this can drag down their overall mentality. Likewise, if an engineer loses faith in you as team principal, that will also bring down their mentality.
The Feature Focus shows how a poor mentality can impact the team. Drivers are more likely to make mistakes while driving, while car development will take longer if the design department's morale is low.
Rival teams are also more likely to swoop in and attempt to poach unhappy team members. It's therefore crucial to try and keep everyone happy. Happy drivers and staff members receive boosts to their stats, improving their performance even further.
Contract negotiations are also much easier if the person you’re attempting to sign with is happy. No one wants to leave a team they are happy at, so drivers and staff members are more patient in negotiations if they have a high mentality.
The Feature Focus demonstrates how players can keep an eye on overall team mentality through the new Mentality Hub. This is the go-to for keeping tabs on any issues developing within the team’s morale.
