Farming Simulator 22 plans free content update for over 3 million players

If you think there’s no market for niche simulation games, think again.

Just look at Farming Simulator 22’s staggering sales.

Farming Simulator 22 sells over 3 million copies

Developer Giant Software has announced that Farming Simulator 22 has sold more than three million copies.

That’s impressive considering the latest farming simulation game was released on 22 November 2021, meaning it sold more than three million copies within nine weeks. For the first time, Farming Simulator 22 was also self-published by Giant Software, making this sales milestone even more impressive.

To celebrate, Giant Software has released a new Farming Simulator 22 accolades trailer showcasing the game’s glowing reception.

“I’d like to thank our community. Our modders, influencers, gamers and partners. All those who play a role in sustaining our growing ecosystem”, Christian Ammann, CEO of Giants Software commented.

“We are excited to embrace new opportunities and projects in 2022 – with new content to extend the experience of simulated agriculture and Farming Simulator 22.”

More content coming in Year 1 Season Pass

To keep the player base growing, the Year 1 Season Pass will add several content packs as well as an expansion. Free content updates are also planned.
