Formula Legends Update 1.0.1: New Steering and Smarter AI Fix the Game's Biggest Issues

Formula Legends Handling Update

Formula Legends Handling Update

The developers at 3DClouds have a significant new patch for Formula Legends, targeting two of the game's most talked about elements-handling and AI behavior.

The team at 3DClouds has done a great job listening to the community's feedback, and the changes implemented to make racing in Formula Legends more immersive, smoother, and smarter prove just that.

Update 1.0.1, which is already live on Steam and will arrive on consoles very soon, continues that trend, delivering a series of important gameplay fixes that aim to make the driving experience significantly better.

Here's everything included in the Formula Legends handling update.

New Optional Steering System

The biggest addition of update 1.0.1 is the introduction of a more responsive steering model, which is essentially an alternative steering option players can use. This option offers more controls and feedback, and is designed for players who don't really enjoy the default setup.

More importantly, this doesn't replace the original steering system. Players are free to switch between both models in the Settings menu and choose the one that suits their driving style. Following the update, gamers will also see a prompt explaining the new options.

Smarter and Less Aggressive AI

AI behavior has also been a major focus of this patch. Opponents are now less aggressive, reducing unnecessary collisions and creating cleaner, more competitive racing. The AI also handles corners more realistically, avoids reckless moves, and manages pit stops and tire wear better.

Several bugs have also been fixed, including issues where AI made pit stops on the final lap or stopped completely after rear-end contact. The changes are expected to make races feel more consistent and immersive.

Upcoming Leaderboard Reset

Lap timings may see some discernible variations due to the upgraded steering model. With the patch, 3DClouds is planning to reset the leaderboards, as the update will further refine AI difficulty, rebalance existing modes, and squash additional bugs.
