The first Forza Horizon 5 expansion is finally here. Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels is out now, adding a list of cars, new EventLab, and a huge new map for players to explore.

What does the Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels expansion include? Let's find out.

A massive new map

Originally shared on the official Forza Horizon social media accounts, the first revealed image of the full map shows the Hot Wheels Expansion will be divided into four distinct locations.

These are: Giant's Canyon, Ice Cauldron, Forest Falls, and Horizon Nexus, with the latter located in the centre of the map and containing Horizon Outpost.

Each island is connected with networks of orange Hot Wheels tracks set above Mexico high in the Videos prior to today have also shown you are able to venture off the Hot Wheels tracks and drive around specific sections of each island.

To shake things up, tracks in the Hot Wheels expansion feature new gravity-defying magnet sections as well as ice and water flumes. There is also a plethora of new PR Stunts, bonus boards, and missions, plus a new five-part Horizon Story.

With 80 new track and stunt pieces for EventLab and 28 new achievements for a total of 500 Gamerscore, there’s plenty of new content to keep players busy for hours.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Playground Games has brought Hot Wheels to Forza Horizon. A Hot Wheels Expansion was also released for Forza Horizon 3 back in 2016 and was an instant fan-favourite.

The Hot Wheels Legends Pack was also released for Forza Horizon 4 last year featuring six custom-built cars from the Hot Wheels™ Legends Tour.

Sadly, no cars from Forza Horizon 4 have made the trip from Scotland to Mexico for the Hot Wheels expansion, although the 1949 Ford F-5 Dually Custom Hot Rod from did appear as a Festival Playlist reward car for a limited time.

Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels release date and time

The Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels Expansion will be released today (19th July) at 6pm BST/10am PDT. For those who own the Premium Edition of Forza Horizon 5, the expansion is included in the price and will be available at the launch time.

If you don’t own the Premium Edition, the Hot Wheels expansion can be purchased separately for £14.99/$19.99/€19.99.

To celebrate the launch, Playground Games is hosting a special launch stream live from the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles at 6pm BST/10am PDT.

Considering the amount of new content involved, including the map, cars, Horizon Story additions and achievements on offer, this is a reasonable price and a welcome addition to a game that needs new content to keep players coming back. It’s been a longer wait than usual for the first Forza Horizon 5 expansion, but it will hopefully be worth it.
