As January draws to a close, all eyes are on what’s coming to Forza Horizon 5 in February. With the Chinese New Year arriving next month, Mexico will be receiving a taste of the East with the Lunar New Year Series.

Year of the Dragon
2024 sees the return of the Year of the Dragon with the Chinese New Year, and the Horizon Festival is joining in the celebrations. Instead of just celebrating for the usual two weeks, however, Mexico is devoting an entire month to the Lunar New Year.
To celebrate the occasion, the Horizon Stadium is getting decked out as a drifting arena, perfect for those who like to kick up the tyre smoke. Dragons also adorn the stadium, with smoke effects lining the track to add to the burning rubber.
Every night, a dragon-themed drone show will light up the Mexican skies, with the drones turning into traditional Chinese lanterns during the day. There’s also a Fireworks collectable to find hidden amongst the Stadium dragons, so keep an eye out as you drift around the arena.
New Year, new cars
As with every new series in Forza Horizon 5, a new roster of cars is coming to Mexico with the Lunar New Year playlist. No less than five unlockable Festival Playlist Reward Cars will be available throughout February, though they were lunar .
There’s a real Asian flavour to the cars this month, with MG, Hyundai, and Lynk & Co all featuring. Here’s the full list of new cars coming in the Lunar New Year Series:

- 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 6
- 2022 Lynk & Co 02 Hatchback
- 2020 Hyundai i30 N
- 2022 MG MG7
Not only that, three new Asian cars are also coming to the Festival Autoshow. These will be coming alongside the ten cars announced as returning last month:
- 2019 Hyundai Veloster N
- 2020 Xpeng P7
- 2021 Lynk & Co 03
Chinese Lucky Stars Car Pack
Along with the new and returning cars coming to the Autoshow and playlist rewards, the Lunar New Year also sees the arrival of four Chinese-made cars in the Chinese Lucky Stars Car Pack.
With three Chinese brand vehicles, plus the most successful Volkswagen in China, there’s a variety of new cars for players to get behind the wheel of.

- 2012 Volkswagen Santana
The Chinese Lucky Stars Car Pack is priced at £3.99 ($4.99) and will be available to purchase from 30 January.
Racing tradition
The Lunar New Year also spans the EventLab in Forza Horizon 5, with nine new props available to spark some creativity. These include three new decorations, two new walls and fences, two new signs and flags, a new ramp and platform, and a new gameplay item.
These new items will give your races a Chinese theme, perfect for taking on your rivals on a circuit surrounded by dragons. Check out the full list of new props below:

Forza Horizon 5 Lunar New Update release date
