Forza Horizon 5 raced past its second anniversary earlier this month. Despite this, the monthly updates aren’t stopping any time soon.
We’re only a few weeks into Forza Horizon 5’s American Automotive Series, but new car and customisation brands planned for future updates have possibly leaked.
Gordon Murray Automotive could be coming to Forza Horizon 5
While looking through hidden game folders in the latest update, GTPlanet user TGR55 discovered a logo image file for Gordon Murray Automotive. This manufacturer has yet to appear in Forza Horizon 5.
For the uninitiated, Gordon Murray designed the legendary McLaren F1. With a top speed of 240 mph, the McLaren F1 set the record for the world’s fastest production car in the 1990s. Twenty-five years after it entered production, it’s still the fastest naturally aspirated car in the world.
He now runs Gordon Murray Automotive, manufacturing the T.50, T.50s Niki Lauda, T.33, and T.33 Spider driver-focused supercars. Boasting a high revving, naturally aspirated 3.9-litre V12 engine rated at 654 hp, the T.50 is effectively the McLaren F1’s spiritual successor.
While the logo discovery isn’t confirmation, the Gordon Murray T.50 will likely be a reward car in an upcoming Forza Horizon 5 series after recently making its video game debut in Forza Motorsport Update 2.
Cars like the Volkswagen Golf R and 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 were also introduced in Forza Motorsport before appearing in Forza Horizon 5. Other Gordon Murray models may also arrive in Forza Horizon 5, although the track-only T.50s Nikki Lauda seems better suited to Forza Motorsport.
Gordon Murray Automotive isn’t the only new brand found in the latest update. While there were no logo images, Duqueine Automotive was also spotted in text strings. The French manufacturer specialises in developing the D08, a fully carbon LMP3 racer. Again, this car seems better suited to Forza Motorsport given its racing credentials.
While Playground Games hasn’t confirmed these cars yet, it’s worth noting that the same forum user leaked the Lucid Air last month before the luxury electric saloon featured in the American Automotive series.
New customisation brands discovered in Forza Horizon 5
In addition, several aftermarket brands were discovered in the files. These include Maxton Design, Prior Design, Triple Seven, Robot Craftsman, KFD Team, Battle Aero, Auto Tuned, Tony Star Performance, and Aeroflow Dynamics. This could mean that Playground Games is looking to expand Forza Horizon 5’s customisation options.
Notably, KFD Team is best known for modifying the Lexus IS (sold as the Toyota Atezza in Japan), one of Forza Horizon 5’s most highly requested cars. This could hint at the Lexus IS 300 returning to Forza for the first time since Forza Motorsport 4.
Will the leaked cars be in the Winter Wonderland series?
It’s unclear when or if these leaked car and customisation brands will appear in Forza Horizon 5. However, Playground Games has confirmed that the next series will start on 7 December, with the Winter Wonderland update giving the Horizon Stadium a festive makeover and bringing a new racetrack and cars.
Secret Santa is also returning, encouraging players to gift each other cars and receive rewards after reaching the goal. Last year’s Secret Santa gift car was the 2020 Lamborghini Sian Roadster, but two gift cars will be up for grabs this year. These are "two of the most amazing cars we've brought to the game" according to Playground Games' Joe Glascodine.
Will they be the Gordon Murray T.50 and Duqueine D08? We'll find out soon when Playground Games reveals the Winter Wonderland series in the next Forza Monthly show, which will likely stream in early December.
