Following last year's Hot Wheels expansion, Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure is the second expansion for Playground Games' open-world racer. For the first time, we'll be able to take part in proper rallying events in Mexico within Horizon 5.
Playground Games is bringing their second major update to Forza Horizon 5 soon. After Forza Horizon 5 celebrated its ten-year anniversary last October, we've got a huge expansion on the way.
With new cars, new gameplay modes and a new region to explore, there's a lot to cover here. Let's dive in!
Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure expansion
Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure brings a whole lot to the table, not least its new Career Mode. There's a huge range of environments on offer in Sierra Nueva, just like the rest of the regular map.
The rallying events also vary in both time and type, with traditional time trial and on-track rally races open to players.
There are three rallying teams to compete for, and each has its own specialisations when it comes to which events they prefer.
The cars
Forza is nothing without cars and there are a lot of new motors included in Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure. You'll have a lot of choices when it comes to which cars you'll be able to tear through the desert in.
There are a total of ten vehicles that are all new to the Forza series in Rally Adventure:
- 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Platinum
- 1973 Hoonigan Volkswagen Baja Beetle Class 5/1600 'Scumbug'
- 2001 Ford #4 Ford Focus RS
- 2022 Alumicraft #6165 Trick Truck
- 2021 Polaris RZR Pro XP Factory Racing Limited Edition
- 2020 Jimco #179 Hammerhead Class 1
- 2019 Jimco #240 Fastball Racing Spec Trophy Truck
- 2019 Casey Currie Motorsports #4402 Ultra 4 'Trophy Jeep'
- 2021 RJ Anderson #37 Polaris RZR Pro 4 Truck
- 2021 Alumicraft #122 Class 1 Buggy
The vast majority of these new cars are full-on offroaders, the likes of which you'd see competing in the Dakar Rally and the Baja 1000. These have huge tyres, raised suspension and engines souped up to the max.
There are some more "traditional" rally cars in here though, such as the 2001 Ford Focus RS, which competed in the real-life WRC. Speaking of which...
Customisation
Forza wouldn't be Forza without the ability to customise your ride. Rallying requires a completely different kind of car to road races and general exploration.
Playground Games have introduced new rally parts to the garages in Sierra Nueva. This includes a new anti-lag system with both spectacular flame effects and fire-cracker sounds.
Launch control has also been added as a new assist for all cars to make sure that you can get off to the best possible start off the line.
Sierra Nueva
The Sierra Nueva map is a big one, with miles of exciting driving roads that are full of unpredictable turns that are sure to keep you on your toes.
The mountainous landscape features steep inclines, blind crests and thrilling asphalt jumps, as well as rugged deformable sand roads interwoven with pre-deformed tyre tracks to boot.
Big dust trails are kicked up by every car in the racing pack, which adds extra challenge to the contest. Eitpath Radio will provide the soundtrack to this region, with punk the main genre of the playlist.
Sierra Nueva features a range of environments to explore. The town of Pueblo Artza will be your main base, with a huge Abandoned Quarry perfect for some Gymkhana action nearby.
There are huge deformable Sand Dunes, a tight and twisting Desert Gorge, rolling Green Hills, and an entirely smashable Palm Forest.
The EventLab props will also be getting a refresh, with new objects including branded barriers, flags and civilian vehicles on offer. These will be available for all Forza Horizon 5 players, regardless of whether they own the new expansion.
Achievement list
Forza Horizon 5 Rally Adventure features 27 achievements worth a total of 500 Gamerscore.
