With Forza Horizon 5 Series 8 coming to a close, the next series is about to begin.
During the latest Forza Monthly show, Playground Games provided a deep dive into Forza Horizon 5 Series 9, revealing the new reward cars, events, and cosmetics players can look forward to throughout July.
Forza Horizon 5 Series 9 Hot Wheels
Forza Horizon 5 Series 9 will have a Hot Wheels theme, with legendary Hot Wheels reward cars to collect in addition to the ten cars included in next month's Hot Wheels Expansion.
Forza Horizon 5 Series 9 starts next week on 23 June, with each season ommencing on Thursdays at 3.30 pm BST. The Series 9 game update will drop on 21 June.
Reward cars
Sticking with the Hot Wheels theme, the main Series 9 reward car is the Twin Mill Hot Wheels car at 80 points. The other Series Reward car is the Ferrari Dino at 160 points.
The 2012 Hot Wheels Rip Rod, 1949 Hot Wheels Ford F-5 Dually Custom Hot Rod, and 2005 Hot Wheels Ford Mustang are also new Wheelspin prize cars or can be unlocked by playing the campaign.
Summer
Each Festival Playlist is filled with Hot Wheels references and legendary Hot Wheels reward cars to add to your collection.
Summer's Season Progress cars include the 2018 Hot Wheels 2JetZ
at 20 points and the Lamborghini Aventador J at 40 points.
In Series 9 Summer, you can also get the 1970 Chevrolet Corvette by completing The Trial and the Penhall Cholla for completing the EventLab.
The Seasonal Championship reward cars are the Plymouth Cuda, 2015 Dodge Charger, and Bone Shaker Hot Wheels car.
Autumn
Autumn’s Season Progress cars are the 1968 Plymouth Barracuda Formula-S
(20 points) and the electric NIO EP9 supercar (40 points).
Completing The Trial rewards you with the iconic 1971 Lamborghini Countach, while the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette is the EventLab reward car.
Other Autumn reward cars include the #34 Volkswagen Beetle, 1967 Chevrolet Corvette, and 2013 Aston Martin Vantage S.
Winter
In Series 9 Winter, the Season Progress Cars are the 1970 Dodge Coronet Super Bee (20 points) and the Danish Zenvo ST1 sports car (40 points).
You can also earn the 1971 Ford Mustang Mach 1 in The Trial and the 2017 Acura NSX in the EventLab.
Seasonal Championship reward cars include the Hummer H1 and #11 Ford F-150. You can also earn the 1971 Nissan GT-R by completing Horizon Open.
Spring
Previously featured in the Forza Horizon 4 Hot Wheels Legends Car Pack, the first Season Progress car is the Hot Wheels Metro at 20 points. The other Season Progress car is the Peel Trident at 40 points.
The Trial reward car is the 1969 Chevrolet Camaro. Other reward cars include the 1970 Ford GT40, Ferrari 365 GTB4, 2004 Porsche 911 GT3, and 2017 Ford Raptor.

Car Pass
Series 9 adds three new Car Pass cars, starting with the 2021 Aston Martin DBX available on 23 June. It will be joined by the 2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition on 30 June and the 2019 Nissan 370z Nismo on 7 July.
Horizon Stories co-op returns
Also announced during the Forza Monthly show was the return of Horizon Stories co-op. In Series 9, up to six players can play all Horizon Stories together including Drift Club Mexico from Series 6.
Game fixes and improvements
The Series 9 update will also add an option to enable temporal antialiasing on PC as an alternative to multi-sample anti-aliasing.
There are also bug fixes for issues issue that prevented 12-player Convoys from launching events and a fix for Daily Challenges in the Festival Playlist that were either incompletable or suffered from progress loss. There will also be a new option to filter duplicate cars.
