Forza Horizon 5 was one of the most critically acclaimed games of 2021 - and not just in the racing genre. Playground Games’ open-world racer was praised for its jaw-dropping graphics, diverse open world set in Mexico, and fun gameplay.
Now, FH5’s achievements are being honoured in industry awards. After winning Racing Game of the Year at the coveted DICE awards, FH5 won another award at last night’s BAFTA Games Awards.
Forza Horizon 5 wins Best British game at BAFTA Games Awards 2022
FH5 took home the Best British award at the BAFTA Games Awards 2022, beating Alba: A Wildlife Adventure, Death’s Door, Fights In Tight Spaces, Overboard!, and Sable.
FH5 was also nominated for Best Game, Family, Game Design, Multiplayer, and Technical Achievement awards. Housemarque’s sci-fi shooter Returnal won Best Game, as well as Audio Achievement, Best Game and Music, and Performer in a Leading Role for Jane Perry.
Impressively, the FH series has been nominated for an award every year of its release.
However, this is only the second BAFTA the racing game franchise has picked up: FH4 also won Best British Game in 2020.
