Forza Motorsport is one of this year’s most anticipated racing games. Gran Turismo 7 has been out for over a year now, but Xbox players are still waiting for the much-anticipated Forza Motorsport reboot to arrive.
Originally, Forza Motorsport was targeting a Spring 2023 release. That changed during January’s Xbox and Bethesda Developer Direct show, where Forza Motorsport’s target release was revised to a vague 2023 window.
Since then, Microsoft has confirmed Forza Motorsport is on track for release in the second half of 2023. Now, thanks to a reputable Xbox insider, we have a clearer idea of when Forza Motorsport will arrive.
Forza Motorsport October release rumoured
Xbox insider MrMattyPlays claims that Forza Motorsport is targeting an October release. “I have heard that Forza Motorsport is coming out in October,” he said in an episode of Defining Duke: An Xbox Podcast.
No specific date was mentioned, but Forza Motorsport 3, 4 and 7 also had October releases. Since Microsoft has already confirmed Forza Motorsport is coming in the second half of the year, an October release is certainly plausible.
This would position Forza Motorsport one month after Starfield, giving Microsoft a strong line-up of first-party Xbox exclusives in the second half of the year.
When will Microsoft confirm the Forza Motorsport release date?
Forza Motorsport’s October release window is still a rumour for now, so take this leak with a pinch of salt until we get clarification from Microsoft. That said, MrMattyPlays’ sources have proven reliable in the past.
Back in January, MrMattyPlays correctly claimed Starfield would get delayed until the second half of 2023.
Fortunately, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer to find out the Forza Motorsport release date.
Forza Motorsport is expected to be one of the headline games at Microsoft’s annual Xbox Games Showcase taking place on 11 June. If Forza Motorsport is racing onto Xbox Series X|S in October, we’ll likely find out the release date at the show.
Microsoft’s reputation for first-party exclusives is dire right now. After Redfall’s disastrous launch, ensuring that Forza Motorsport delivers a polished experience is more pivotal than ever.
If Forza Motorsport and Starfield can meet expectations, Microsoft will hopefully end the year on a high.
