Gran Turismo 7: Polyphony focus on small details for GT7, staff-up for crunch time

Gran Turismo 7 didn't arrive with the launch of the PS5 as many fans hoped.

However, we know it will be release in 2021 and it seems like developers Polyphony are setting their sights on dropping the best racing game PS5 players could wish for.

No compromises

Speaking at the Gran Turismo Sport Nations Cup, GT7 producer Kazuori Yamauchi discussed the future of the franchise, and of course, Gran Turismo 7.

Yamauchi said that Polyphony Digital always pursues the very best and doesn't want to make consessions anywhere.

With more attention on fine details, Polyphony is looking to create the best possible next-gen racer.

With the growth of the GT Sport competitive scene, Polyphony seemingly feel compeled to keep pushing themselves harder than ever.

Polyphony adding staff?

On the stream, Yamauchi mentioned the 200+ staff at Polyphony Digital, which is more than latest official figure of 170.

It's likely that then means the studio has added staff to deliver the level of quality and testing needed to produce a game without compromises.

Given what we've seen with Cyberpunk recently, it's understandable developers would want to avoid the murky world of refunds and glitch memes.

Gran Turismo 7 release date

While there is no firm release date for Gran Turismo 7, we do at least know it will arrive in 2021.

Expectation is that it GT7 will arrive in the second-half of the year, probably in September-October.

With Gran Turismo Sport still providing plenty of entertainment we are happy to wait for a game produced without compromise.
