Gran Turismo 7 players are set for a surprise this September, as a brand-new update has been confirmed. Kazunori Yamauchi, the series creator, revealed this news shortly after the Gran Turismo World Series event in Berlin, teasing what appears to be the biggest single drop of new cars in recent times.
The update is scheduled to release on September 25, Thursday, and will bring five new vehicles along with the standard range of supporting content.
A Surprise September Update
Fans weren’t expecting a September update for Gran Turismo 7, especially considering the timing of the World Series Round and the lack of early teasers.
However, Yamauchi’s announcement, paired with a teaser image on social media, has revealed five new additions to the car roster, marking one of the largest updates for GT7 in over a year.
Five New Cars Coming to GT7
The teaser image hints at five distinct vehicles. These vehicles cover everything from concept cars to off-road legends. Here’s what to expect:
Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo

The Opel Corsa GSE Vision Gran Turismo is a bold concept designed to showcase the next generation of Opel/Vauxhall’s Compass design language.
This electric design, which is a part of the Vision Gran Turismo project, has superior dynamic aerodynamics, including an expanding diffuser, and produces about 800 hp. It’s already being used in a Pro-Am event in Berlin, ahead of its in-game debut.
Hyundai Elantra N
After being hinted at via a Hyundai-Polyphony alliance back in 2024, the Hyundai Elantra N, a rare four-door vehicle for Gran Turismo 7, finally makes its entrance.
This car directly competes with the Honda Civic Type R and its diversity in the game’s performance car lineup, thanks to 276 hp, front-wheel drive, and sharp track day handling.
Toyota RAV4 (or Suzuki Across)
The update also appears to include the outgoing model of the Toyota RAV4, one of the best-selling SUVs in the world, or its badge-engineered twin, the Suzuki Across. Although it’s unusual for a racing game, its inclusion reflects GT7’s ever-growing mix of everyday vehicles alongside high-performance machines.
Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser
Another potential addition is the Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser, a car that symbolizes the vintage off-road era. The FJ40, which was produced for more than two decades, is still very popular. Produced for more than two decades and renowned for its simplicity and durability, the FJ40 will give players a rugged option for dirt tracks and off-road challenges.
Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster 12R

Lastly, the update appears to include the Mazda Spirit Racing Roadster 12R, a unique track-focused MX-5 (ND generation) variation. It has a customized 2.0-liter Skyactiv-G engine that produces 184 hp with lightweight components and optimized intake and exhaust systems.
What Else to Expect in the Update
While Polyphony Digital’s update cycle starts with car teasers, other features will be revealed closer to launch. However, based on previous updates, you can expect:
- New World Circuits races matched to the new cars
- Possible Bonus Menu Books or Extra Menu Books focused on collections
- Additional engine swaps
- New Scapes locations
- Minor gameplay tweaks and improvements
Although fans remain hopeful for a new track, no such content has been teased yet.
