As we approach the end of the month, GT7 fans are wondering when the next content update will arrive.
Series creator Kazunori Yamauchi usually teases new cars on X, formerly Twitter, on the weekend before a content update. GT7’s monthly updates usually arrive on the last Thursday of the month, but Yamauchi was unusually silent last weekend.
This implied that Polyphony will skip April. Happily, however, a server maintenance update confirms that a new Gran Turismo 7 update is coming this week.
Server maintenance will take place on Thursday, April 25, between 2 am EST / 7 am BST and 4 am EST / 9 am BST. Once the server maintenance is complete, update 1.46 should be released on the same day.
Skoda Vision GT to be revealed tomorrow
While Yamauchi hasn’t shared his traditional car silhouette teaser, we know that Skoda is revealing a new Vision GT car tomorrow at an event in Prague. Yamauchi is currently visiting Prague, so we can expect the Gran Turismo creator to appear at the event.
From the teasers shown so far, Skoda’s Vision GT will be an electric single-seater with all-wheel drive. Its striking carbon design shares cues with the 1957 Skoda 1100 OHC Spider and Skoda’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language.
Gran Turismo’s X account teases that the Skoda VGT "has more than meets the eye.” The timing of the reveal certainly hints that the Skoda Vision GT will be part of update 1.46 this week.
Notably, this will be the first time the Czech manufacturer has appeared in a Gran Turismo game. Aside from its motorsport division's rally cars, Skoda is rarely seen in racing games, but the manufacturer’s partnership with Gran Turismo could change that.
Most GT7 updates contain at least three cars, so we could see production models like the Skoda Fabia and Octavia join the Vision GT in update 1.46. Of course, it's also possible that this isn't a traditional monthly update and only includes the Skoda Vision GT. We’ll find out more at the reveal event tomorrow.
We’re also hoping for a new track in this week’s update – we haven’t had a new asphalt circuit since Grand Valley Highway was added to the roster last February.
