It’s that time of the month again for Gran Turismo 7 fans. GT7’s latest monthly content update has arrived, with update 1.48 bringing new cars, World Circuits events, a new Menu Book, and more.
Now that the May update is live, Polyphony has provided a full list of changes in the patch notes.
New cars, Menu Books, and more
While every GT7 update so far in 2024 has included three cars, update 1.48 adds five new cars to the roster.
Two JDM legends returning from past games headline the lineup: the ‘00 Honda NSX GT500 and ‘87 Nissan Skyline GTS-R. Returning from Gran Turismo 6, the Honda NSX JGTC racer features its iconic Castrol Mugen livery.
Other new cars include the ‘93 Honda Civic SiR II hatchback. Volvo also returns to the franchise with the ‘93 Volvo 240 SE Estate and Volvo V40 T5 R-Design ’13.
Elsewhere, there’s a new GT Café Menu Book (Extra Menu No. 39: Japanese GT cars accessed at Collector Level 48), four World Circuits events in the single-player campaign, and a new Scapes location set in Haulover Park, Miami.
Improved mechanical damage physics
Beyond the new content, the mechanical damage physics has been improved for several cars, including the Porsche Taycan Turbo S, Tesla Model 3 Performance, and Volkswagen ID.R. However, this mostly applies to Vision GT cars such as the Audi Tron Vision Gran Turismo, Hyundai N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo, and the Skoda Vision Gran Turismo introduced in last month’s update.
There are also new engine swaps unlocked at Collector Level 50 for cars for a handful of Hondas and the Nissan Sileighty. Other than that, there aren’t any surprises. Six months after the Lake Louise circuit was added in Spec II, GT7 players are still craving for new circuits to race on.
