One of the defining elements of Gran Turismo Sport is the focus on online play.
This really means that players have to be up to scratch with multiplayer, everything from customising your car to joining friends' lobbies!

So, let's take a look at everything multiplayer related you need to know in Gran Turismo Sport!
Playing Online
The key to playing online, first of all, is to make sure your console is connected to the internet. You will also need PlayStation Plus to play.
Next, in order to jump online you'll need to have completed the driving etiquette steps, which just requires you to watch a simple video.
Now, you should be ready to go. There are two modes, both Arcade and Sport, and you can choose which one you want to race in!
Joining Friends
Your next step will likely be to race friends, which you can do offline and online.
First of all, to race with friends you'll either have to make a private lobby or find them in the arcade mode of multiplayer. You can't race with them in Daily Races unless you get very lucky!
To set up this private lobby simply head to the lobby screen in the top of the screen, and then invite your friends in. You have full control over the lobby settings as well, meaning you can set up the race however you wish.
Uploading a decal
The final step in online play is customising your car, and the best way to do so is with custom liveries.
To do so, first have your livery saved as a .svg version 1.0 or 1.1, and head over to gran-turismo.com. Sign in to the User Page of the website and make sure you sign into the same Sony Entertainment Network account as your GT Sport account.
When you have uploaded you livery, simply select it in the 'My Library' section and go into 'Decals' -> 'My Decals'.

The arrival of Gran Turismo 7 is still on the horizon, although it was recently announced that the release of the game will be delayed until 2022.
