GT7 Daily Races 20 February: Off roading

It's set to be a big week for Gran Turismo 7 as PSVR 2 arrives and update 1.29 is set to bring more content to the game too.

For Sport Mode racers though, the GT7 Daily Races 20 February provide a very mixed bag. There is an off-road race and two classics, including a rare Gr.2 race that should be thrilling.

Let's take a look at everything going on in GT7 this week.

Race A

Colorado Springs - 5 laps

We are going off-road for this week's unranked race. Polyphony is taking players to Colorado Springs for a five-lap race in the R5 Turbo '80.

This race of course uses dirt tyres, and both fuel consumption and tyre wear are off.

A low-speed BoP is applied to everyone, and neither DR or SR are impacted but the results of this race.

There is light mechanical damage along with penalties for collisions. There is also light shortcut penalties but they don't impact you here.

Race B

Catalunya - No Chicane - 4 laps

The ranked races take us back to tarmac as we are off to Spain for some Gr.3 battles.

This four-lap races takes place at the no chicane layout of the circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on the Racing Medium tyres and has 1x fuel consumption and tyre wear.

A mid-speed BoP will be applied and don't forget that your DR and SR will be affected by performance in this race.

Light mechanical damage and normal track limits are set, along with light shortcut penalties and collision penalties.

Race C

Lago Maggiore - Reverse - 10 laps

The final race of the week is a real winner as we take Gr.2's for a 10-lap blast around Lago Maggiore reverse.

The 16-car field will use a rolling start, while both the Racing Medium and Racing Soft are mandatory tyres.

That means you'll need to make a pitstop, but with 2x fuel consumption and 7x tyre wear that won't be a problem anyway.

You will also have to contend with light shortcut penalties and penalties for collisions. There is also a penalty for cutting the pit lane line so be sure to avoid that!

Gran Turismo 7 Update 1.29

We already knew an update would be coming this week to get GT7 ready for PSVR 2. What we didn't know was if there would be anything else for players. After all, January was the first time Polyphony didn't put out a content update for GT7.

Well, players can rest easy as the usual Kaz tweet dropped over the weekend showing off four new cars for Gran Turismo 7.

Three of these cars are pretty easy to identify. At the top is the Citreon DS. The bottom left looks very much like the Honda RA272, the first Japanese car to win a Formula 1 race. While in the bottom right corner there is a Porsche 911.

The final car looks like it could be a new Vision GT, but we will have to wait for the update to drop to be sure.

Kaz did alter the usual cadence by saying "big updates" in this tweet. That may just be a reference to the PSVR 2 integration, or that a new track, missions, or Menu Books are coming.

Update 1.23 will land tomorrow on Tuesday 21 February ahead of PSVR 2 release date so be ready to install then!
