WRC 10 will be a celebration of 50 years of the World Rally Championship.
We’ve already had our first peak of the upcoming nostalgia-heavy game with the recent reveal trailer ahead of its release on September 2.
We’re especially looking forward to getting behind the wheel of some of our favourite cars from the WRC's bygone era, and here we’ll be taking a closer look at some of those historic cars we saw in the trailer.
WRC 10: A celebration of 50 years of rallying
For the upcoming 50th anniversary of the WRC, Nacon are offering players a retrospective Historic Mode feature in WRC 10. Here, players will get the chance to relive 19 events that have shaped the history of the sport, with iconic venues across the Acropolis, San Remo, Germany and Argentina.
Better still, there will be over 20(!) iconic WRC cars available to drive from some of the sport’s most famous manufactures. Alpine, Audi, Lancia, Subaru, Ford, Mitsubishi and Toyota will all be there. We glimpsed four of these cars in the reveal trailer; the Alpine Renault A110, Lancia Delta Integrale, Audi Quattro A2 and 2005 Citroen Xsara,
1990s favourites like Subaru, Mitsubishi and Toyota will also be in the game, too. We can only speculate which cars these will be.

Alpine Renault A110
The Alpine A110 was a natural place to start for a celebration of the WRC.
When the International Championship was replaced by the WRC for 1973, Alpine became the championship’s first champion. The car dominated events in Monte Carlo, Corsica and Sanremo that year.
Lancia Delta Integrale
Is the Lancia Delta Integrale rally’s most iconic car?
It’s certainly one of the most successful, having won the WRC for manufacturers six times between 1987 and 1992. It also gave prominence to iconic drivers like Juha Kankkunen, Miki Biasion and Didier Auriol.
Audi Quattro A2
Fire up the Quattro!
Famously the first rally car to utilise four-wheel drive, the Quattro is fondly remembered today as one of the most powerful rally cars ever made. With drivers like Walter Rohrl and Stig Blomqvist behind the wheel, the Quattro A2 won nine rallies across 1983 and 1984 - winning Blomqvist the 84 championship.
Citroen Xsara 2005
After flirting with the WRC by entering only a handful of rounds in the early years of the 20003, Citroen went all out in 2003. With Carlos Sainz and Colin McRae at the wheel, as well as up-and-comer Sebastien Loeb, the team was one of the most exciting in WRC history.
Ultimately, it was Loeb who lead the French outfit to history, winning this first three titles with the Xsara in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
WRC 10 release date
In a press release alongside the trailer, Nacon confirmed that WRC 10 has a release date of 2 September.
This is for all platforms bar Nintendo Switch, which is just quoted as “at a later date”.
