Gran Turismo 7 is finally here, and we're happy to say it was well worth the long wait. As you take to the track, there are multiple camera views to select. For the most immersive and realistic experience, we recommmend driving with the interior camera. But how do you change cockpit view in Gran Turismo 7? Here’s how.
How to change cockpit view in Gran Turismo 7
It’s easy to change the cockpit view in Gran Turismo 7. During a race, press R1 to switch between the various camera views. Keep doing this until you see the cockpit view.
This is the most immersive way to play GT7, allowing you to race from the driver’s perspective inside the car. This view also showcases GT7’s painstakingly detailed car interiors – you can practically feel the texture of the handstitched leather.
Unlike other modern racing games like GRID Legends, GT7 only has one cockpit camera. Unfortunately, there is no option to remove the steering wheel or driver's hands and no dashboard cameras with a closer viewpoint.
As well as the cockpit view, you can also play GT7 with a bumper, bonnet, or exterior camera positioned behind the car. It’s entirely up to you.
Changing the camera view button
If you prefer, you can reassign the change view button in the controller settings.
To do this, enter the GT Menu by highlighting the GT logo in the top left corner of the World Map and press Cross. You will then see a map of the controllers on the DualShock 4 or DualSense controller. Scroll to the button you want to assign, press Cross, and select Change View.
