Is F1 Manager 2023 Compatible With Steam Deck?

F1 Manager 2023 is undeniably addictive to play. So much so, it’s very tempting to want to take the game wherever you go. The Steam Deck is the perfect solution for this, but is F1 Manager 2023 compatible with the Steam Deck?

Is F1 Manager 2023 Steam Deck compatible?

Despite releasing well over a year ago now, there are still a number of games available on Steam but not available to play on Steam Deck. The good news though is that F1 Manager 2023 can be played on Steam Deck. Players logged into their Steam accounts will be able to download the game onto their devices ready to play wherever they are.

However, that doesn’t mean the game is compatible with Steam Deck. Valve has four ratings for whether games are compatible with Steam Deck. These are Deck Verified, Deck Playable, Unsupported, and Untested.

Deck Verified means Valve has tested the game and certified it is fully compatible with Steam Deck. Deck Playable means the game does work on Steam Deck, but may require extra configuration to work properly. The other two ratings mean that Valve cannot guarantee the game will work properly on Steam Deck.

At the time of writing, F1 Manager 2023 is on the Untested list. Therefore there’s a chance the game may not perform well despite being available for installation on Steam Deck.

It’s not all bad news though, as F1 Manager 2022 is on the Deck Verified list, so players who want to live out their Team Principal dreams can still do so on the move.

F1 Manager 2023 Update 1.6 to introduce team switching

Frontier has announced that the latest update to F1 Manager 2023, Update 1.6, finally introduces team switching to the series. Now players can achieve their goals with one team, before crossing the grid to another team without needing to start a new save. This is arguably the most popular feature requested, so it's great to see Frontier has listened to the fans.

Update 1.6 also addresses unrealistic board objectives for Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, and AlphaTauri, lowering the expected championship standings. Automatic mode in qualifying is also being adjusted, and the AI drivers will now use multiple tyre compounds after a mid-session save.
