Fans are in for a wild ride this year thanks to MotoGP 22 Nine.
Milestone is bringing all the action from the 2009 season to their latest title.
What's included in this mode? We've got everything you need to know right here!
A classic campaign
Milestone hasn't just picked a random year out and stated they'll recreate it in MotoGP 22. The 2009 campaign is generally regarded as one of the best in living memory.
Players will get to relive it all.
Milestone is giving players all 17 Grand Prix from 2009 divided into chapters and breath-taking challenges to complete.
This game mode isn't just about the racing though, as there will be an extended documentary regarding this season. A 50-minute feature created and narrated by Mark Neale will take you through all the highs and lows of the 2009 campaign.
All the riders and bikes from the 2009 season are present, while there are a total of 39 challenges that accurately reproduce the most crucial moments of the season.
Each challenge has specific goals to achieve, like defending your position or moving your way up through the field.
2009 teams and rider list
While thirteen years have passed since 2009, there are plenty of familiar names in the full rider list from '09. That being said, there's only one rider, Andrea Dovizioso, that is still riding in 2022.
There's a full roster of riders from this season available to players of MotoGP 22. We've produced a full article going over the complete list here on Racinggames.
2009 calendar
Despite this being 13 years ago, most of these circuits and races are still on the calendar. Qatar's Losail is still the curtain-raiser for the season, while Valencia bookends it.
Furthermore, circuits that have been included as historical tracks, such as Britain's Donnington and the USA's Laguna Seca, are also present here.
Out of the 17 circuits from 2009, only two weren't in MotoGP 21. These are Indianapolis and Estoril. Thankfully though, Milestone have added these as new Historical circuits, so the full 2009 calendar is in MotoGP 22.
