MotoGP 23 has now been confirmed, but which MotoGP 23 editions will be available?
With the potential for special editions to return in 2023, there are a lot of reasons to be excited about MotoGP 23. Here's everything you need to know about MotoGP's editions!
MotoGP 23 Editions
We hadn't heard anything official from Milestone regarding their 2023 Motorcycle Grand Prix game until recently. This year's announcement trailer has just gone live, confirming a June release date.
MotoGP 22 did not have any special editions released alongside the regular game. We haven't seen any special editions of MotoGP released since 2020. Could that change in 2023, though?
Standard edition
One version that we know will launch for sure is the Standard Edition of MotoGP 23. This is the base game that will be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and PC via the Steam Store.
Both the Xbox One and the PS4 will also get MotoGP 23. These systems did get MotoGP 22 as well and these versions could be cross-generational with the Series X and PS5.
The PC and Switch versions of MotoGP 23 should be the cheapest, as they usually retail at around £39.99 on release day. Pre-orders aren't live yet, but we expect this to change soon.
The PS and Xbox versions for both old and next-gen should cost £44.99. This price won't change even if the old-gen versions aren't available. By current standards, these are very cheap video games for their size and scope.
Other editions
Milestone didn't make any other versions of MotoGP 22 available to fans. The VIP and Limited Editions we were used to in past games didn't return in 2022.
Could that change this year, though? Well, anything is possible, especially with games like Need for Speed making full use of special editions. However, it appears that special editions are something Milestone is moving away from.
This is a good thing in a sense because all content will be available to all players, regardless of which edition they buy.
There should be a lot of content as well, with not only MotoGP, but also Moto2, Moto3, MotoE and special modes such as a new version of the Nine Career Mode that was so refreshing in 2022.
MotoGP 23 release date
The MotoGP 23 release date has been confirmed to be 8 June 2023. This is the case for everyone worldwide on all systems.
