MotoGP 24 is less than a month away from releasing and we've been given some juicy gameplay details ahead of this.

Developers Milestone have told everything when it comes to the gameplay of MotoGP 24 in their latest "From the Paddock" article. With only one trailer so far to go on, this is absolute gold for those wanting to get an insight.

So, let's dive into what the Italian developers have revealed about the official 2024 MotoGP video game!

MotoGP 24 Gameplay

Both Stefano Talarico (Lead Game Designer) and Luca Pellizzer (Gameplay Designer) detailed the gameplay changes from MotoGP 23 to 24.

The general approach that MotoGP 24 will have when it comes to its gameplay has been described as "easy-to-learn, hard-to-master". This basically means that casual players can enjoy the gameplay, but players will require significant skill and experience to win races on the higher difficulties.

In general, it's harder to fall off the bike when leaning through corners and the bike provides easier to detect feedback to the player as well. Braking also follows a similar approach, with it being more intuitive.

Something that has been overhauled are the electronic aids on the bike. Assists such as Traction Control and Anti-wheelie aid will be different, with how they affect the performance of the bike being vastly different in the dry compared to the wet.

The MotoGP's community feedback has also resulted in improved corner exit, with the on-throttle application out of corners also being more "intuitive" than in MotoGP 23.

AI & Career Mode

The in-game AI has also been fine-tuned, with another year of data and feedback going into A.N.N.A to further improve its realism. The player's actions on-track affect how the AI reacts to them in MotoGP 24 Career Mode.

So, if you're running your rivals out of road in one race, expect them to get their elbows out when you're trying to overtake in the next...

Stewards will probably provide the biggest changes to races, with incidents being dealt with in a more realistic way than ever before in the MotoGP game series.

That plays into the thinking of the AI, as although they want to protect their position, they don't want to end up with a penalty either. Adaptive difficulty should also make it easier for players to find the best difficulty setting for them.

Instead of having to guess and estimate the proper difficulty for them, the game will instead use your performances to set the difficulty going forwards. This will save players potentially hours of gameplay and make it much more accessible.

As for the riders' ratings, these will initially be based on their 2023 form before being updated through the 2024 season depending upon their performance.

The teams' performances affect their development too, with teams that are doing better receiving more resources from manufacturers to aid the implementation of upgrades through a season.

This has the knock-on effect of more prestigious riders and sponsors interested in joining the team. The teams' overall performance levels do change from season to season to reflect this also.

Quality of Life Improvements

Riders will approach both practice and qualifying sessions more realistically than before. In previous games, AI riders would go for peak lap time in every practice session, despite that not being what the real-life riders do.

Qualifying will be the opposite, with riders vying for track position in the final few minutes to set a lap time when the track condition is at its best.

MotoGP setups will also be dependent on both the air and track temperatures and the wind playing a part in how the bike reacts out on the circuit.
