Today sees the launch of Moza's new R3 racing bundle. This bundle includes a wheel, wheelbase, and pedals for the ultimate sim racing experience. Also compatible for PC, the R3 bundle is designed specifically for Xbox players, bringing sim racing to the console.
Taking the wheel
The R3 wheel and pedals mark Moza’s first foray into the console racing market. This also brings a new direct drive wheel to Xbox players, perfect for tackling Laguna Seca in Forza Motorsport.
The R3 bundle ships with a Moza ES Wheel. Optimized for Xbox, contains 22 programmable buttons. Each can be remapped for the ultimate custom racing experience.
Crafted from an aviation-grade aluminum alloy, the wheel is lightweight but durable. This, combined with its ISF grips, gives you the feeling of control in every race.
As well as the programmable buttons, the ES Wheel also has an RGB sequential shifter indicator. This means you’ll never miss a gear shift when it matters most.
The wheel is impressive, but the R3 wheelbase it sits on is just as mighty. With 3.9 Nm of direct drive power, the R3 wheelbase perfectly simulates any surface in racing while providing just the right challenge for players.
The wheelbase has been designed to fit on a sim racing rig or a desk, maximizing its versatility while providing optimum performance. Like the wheel, it has been machined out of aviation-grade aluminium, so it won’t tip your desk over with the excess weight.
The ES Wheel comes with Mozas quick-release system, so you can swap out the wheel at a moment’s notice depending on the race ahead. For a system designed for Xbox, this is a novel approach to console gaming.
Pedal to the metal
The SR-P Lite pedal set completes the Moza R3 bundle. Constructed from high-strength steel, these pedals can withstand the punishment of a long racing session.
The SR-P Lite pedals are the entry-level version of the SR-P pedals. However, the difference between the two is fairly minimal.
The ultra-sensitive angle sensor guarantees precision driving, with every movement of the foot reflected in-game. These pedals, along with the rest of the bundle, are customizable in Moza’s Pit House software, allowing for full personalization by players.
Overall, Moza's R3 direct drive racing bundle looks like a great addition for Xbox players, but what about the cost? Happily, the R3 bundle is priced at £399/$399. Considering you're getting a wheel, direct drive wheelbase, and pedal set, it's a surprisingly affordable option for Xbox players looking to make the step up to sim racing.
The Moza R3 bundle is designed for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. However, the bundle works just as well on PC for sim racers looking to go racing on a budget.
