Need for Speed Unbound is being released later this year, but will it make its way to the Nintendo Switch? The Switch is a console that's often overlooked by developers, but could this change for NFS Unbound?
Well, we've got everything you need to know right here!
Need for Speed Unbound Switch
Need for Speed Unbound has been confirmed for multiple gaming platforms. These are the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X | S and PC via the Steam Store and EA Play.
The Nintendo Switch isn't listed as one of those, something that's not uncommon.
So, will Unbound come to Switch eventually? Let's take a look into the past to figure that out.
Past NFS games
The Nintendo Switch was released in 2017. That means that both Payback and Heat have been released since Nintendo's current home console.
Payback didn't get a Switch port, but the console had only just come out when the game launched. The same was true for Heat though, but things could be about to change for Unbound.
Unbound will only be released on the next-gen systems of the PS5, Series X and PC. Some may say that it means EA and Criterion will keep this trend going.
However, aside from PC, Switch has the most players out of any console on the market, at over 110 million units sold. Although, the last NFS to be released on a Nintendo console is Most Wanted on the Wii U back in 2012.
Unbound on Switch
While it's admittedly unlikely we'll see NFS Unbound on the Switch, if it does come to the console, it'll have some impressive specs for a mobile console.
When docked, the console will be able to output Unbound in 1080p full HD and while out of the bay, the Switch's 7-inch OLED screen.
