Celebrating 75 years of Porsche
Need for Speed Unbound Vol. 4 celebrates the 75th anniversary of Porsche.
In the trailer, we see a grid full of Porsches racing around Lakeshore City. Despite the update celebrating the history of Porsche, only two Porsches are being added to the game.
Reaching Speed Pass rank 50 unlocks the Legendary Custom Porsche 911 Carrera S (1997). Completing the Porsche playlist three times rewards players with the electric Porsche Taycan Turbo S (2022).
Along with the Porsche content, Vol 4. also adds a new Gauntlet playlist, 75 new customisation options for both your avatar and cars, brand new Linkup locations, and a range of new events and challenges to compete in.
You can check out the full list of features in Vol. 4 here.
Vol. 4 Customs Pack
Alongside the free cars, there's also a new premium car pack called the Vol.4 Customs Pack. This DLC pack includes iconic cars from past NFS games: Eddie’s Nissan Skyline GT-R V·spec from Need for Speed Underground, Rachel’s Nissan 350Z from Underground 2, and Joe’s Polestar 1 from Heat.
EA is recharging for old cars that were free rewards in NFS Heat, which hasn't gone down well with fans. Prominent NFS YouTubers like Blackpanthaa are even urging players not to buy the DLC.
Release date
The trailer confirms the Need for Speed Unbound Vol. 4 update will release on 16 August for all platforms.
With Vol 3. arriving in June, and Vol. 2 releasing back in March, this confirms that updates are spread roughly two to three months apart.
