Retro-racer New Star GP Enters Steam Early Access

Fans of throwback racing games have reason to celebrate: retro-racer New Star GP is now available on Steam Early Access.

Developed by New Star Games, the BAFTA award-winning studio behind indie sports titles New Star Soccer, Retro Goal and Retro Bowl, New Star GP brings back memories of classic racing titles.

New Star GP enters Steam Early Access

New Star GP is now available to play in Steam Early Access. Featuring 56 races set across the world throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the game evokes memories of classic F1 titles from that era. There are two modes available to play currently: Championship Mode and Career Mode.

Championship Mode features a series of different championships in either single-player or up to four-player multiplayer. This is your classic Mario Kart-style championship, with multiple races used to decide an ultimate champion. Championship Mode is available to play on split-screen, a rarity for modern racing titles.

Career Mode sees players start in the 1980s. As you work your way through this iconic racing era, you can upgrade your car and support team to help you dominate out on track. There are plans for Career Mode to eventually span decades of racing, along with more cars, tracks, and even rivals to compete against.

New Star GP is currently priced at £14.99/$17.99 on Steam. This is a huge discount on the eventual price of the final game, so players looking to play should get involved early. If that isn’t enough of an incentive, Early Access players will gain access to the Lucas 05 body shell.

If you’re a fan of modern retro-style racers like Formula Retro Racing World Tour, Slipstream, and Hotshot Racing, you need to check out New Star GP too.
