Formula Retro Racing: World Tour drifts onto Kickstarter

Retro-inspired racer Formula Retro Racing: World Tour is one of the most anticipated indie racers coming in 2023.

A sequel to Formula Retro Racing, World Tour was originally slated for a December 2022 release before being delayed to spring this year.

World Tour expands on the original with eight new locations and new car types, but developers Repixel8 and CGA Games are looking to expand the game with the help of fans in a Kickstarter campaign.

Formula Retro Racing: World Tour Kickstarter launching in February

Launching 1 February, Repixel8 and CGA Games are looking to raise £10,000 ($12,369 / €11,423) in the Kickstarter campaign. Additional funding will help the indie developer add extra content to World Tour including online multiplayer and expanding the game’s VR mode.

You can already try Formula Retro Racing in VR on the Steam demo. With Formula Retro Racing heading to PS5, perhaps the extra funding will lead to PSVR 2 support. GT7 is the only game confirmed to support PSVR 2, so there’s certainly room for more PSVR 2 racing games.

Kickstarter backers can also suggest new content, while certain tiers will also get a physical copy of the game on PS4, PS5, or Nintendo Switch.
