Over The Hill, the off-road game developed by Funselektor Labs Inc. and Strelka Games, is one of the most anticipated racing games of the year.
The game now has over 1 million wishlists on Steam, and to celebrate this historic milestone, the developers have announced a closed playtest that players can already register for. A selected few will have the honour to experience the Over The Hill world.
Over The Hill Reveals New Location and Announces Closed Playtest

As mentioned above, to celebrate the milestone of over 1 million wishlists on Steam, a closed playtest will take place from April 24 - 26 exclusively on Steam. Registrations for the playtest are already open and will remain so until April 16.
This will give players a chance to experience the game earlier, as Over The Hill launches on Steam in 2026, with the exact release date yet to be revealed.
But that's not all, as the latest Over The Hill trailer has revealed algeria, one of the many regions featured in the game. The name isn't just a coincidence, as the location is inspired by the Algerian scenery, with beautiful deserts, mountains, dunes, and ancient ruins.
Players will be able to explore all of these locations alone or with friends, driving up to the highest mountains, sightseeing ancient ruins, or racing around in the dunes.
Over The Hill will launch on Steam, but it will also be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 later on. PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 players can expect the game's pre-order to go live very soon.
Fans from the two platforms that buy the physical version of Over The Hill will receive a Premium Standard Edition or Collector’s Edition of the game, which is currently being produced in partnership with Serenity Forge.
The hype for Over The Hill continues to grow, and it looks like we are closer than ever to its release.
