From the creator of the beloved indie hits Art of Rally and Absolute Drift, a new adventure is on the horizon. Developer Funselektor, working with Strelka Games, has officially announced that their upcoming title, Over the Hill, is climbing onto consoles in 2026.
A brand-new console announcement trailer, which dropped on October 29, confirms the game is heading for a multi-platform launch. It is confirmed to be coming to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series S and X. PC players won't be left out, as a release for PC is also planned.
What is Over the Hill?

If you've never heard of Over the Hill, it's a new direction for Funselektor. While their previous games focused on the style and precision of drifting and rallying, this new game is an off-road exploration adventure, set in the golden age of off-roading.
The game puts you behind the wheel of iconic vehicles from the 1960s to the 1980s and sets you loose in a vast wilderness. According to the developers, the game is all about freedom and discovery. You can "ramble your way through varied biomes inspired by real-world locations, from valleys to mountains and everything in between."
You also don't have to do it alone. Over the Hill is designed for solo tours and co-op play with up to three friends. You can challenge yourselves on difficult trails and work together to reach new areas, or maybe just enjoy the sights - if there’s anything the developers do well, it’s crafting a unique visual style that condenses driving to its most pure form.
Explore, Customize, and Drive

Driving is only one part of Over the Hill. The core gameplay loop is all about the adventure, which involves exploring the world to discover portals to new areas and completing objectives. Finishing these tasks will reward you with new vehicles, upgrades, customizations, and cosmetics.
The wilderness itself is a major character. You'll have to face dynamic weather, full day/night cycles, and realistic terrain deformation that will make you fight for every foot of progress. After a long day, you can even set up a campsite for some much-needed rest. A built-in photo mode is included to capture those stunning landscapes.
Over the Hill looks like a beautiful, relaxing, yet challenging experience. We'll be watching for more news as it heads toward its 2026 release.
