We’re used to games getting delayed. Many of our most anticipated racing games have suffered delays from Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown to Forza Motorsport. It’s a pleasant surprise when a release date is moved forward. That’s what has happened to the upcoming off-roader racer Overpass 2.

Publisher Nacon has announced the Overpass 2 release date has moved forward so players can begin their off-road adventure sooner than expected.

Overpass 2 release date moved forward

Originally slated for a 19 October release, Overpass 2’s release date has moved forward to 28 September in Europe – three weeks earlier than planned.

It’s certainly unusual for a game’s release date to move forward by nearly a month. However, players in the US and the rest of the world will have to wait until 16 October.

Overpass 2 launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.

Overpass 2 gameplay trailer

To celebrate the earlier release date, Nacon has released a new Overpass 2 gameplay trailer showcasing two previously unseen vehicle categories: ATVs and Rock Bouncers, which join UTVs.

Also known as quads, ATVs are all-terrain four-wheeled bikes. Their agility makes them capable of navigating narrow forests and tight turns with ease. Overpass 2 will have 12 ATVs from five manufacturers: Arctic Cat, Kawasaki, Polaris, Suzuki, and Yamaha.

Rock Bouncers are a new vehicle class in the Overpass series. Equipped with a reinforced frame, supercharged engine, and coil springs, these unusual vehicles are designed to climb near-vertical rock walls and the most challenging obstacles. Overpass 2 will feature four officially licensed Rock Bouncers: Venom, Screamin Blue, Rum Runner, and Smoked-out.

Overpass 2 will feature 33 vehicles plus 31 challenging circuits across five unique locations from the Baja Desert to Johnson Valley, Utah Desert, East Central US, and Western Europe. These challenging circuits will test your skill and precision.

There’s also local split-screen for up to four players and online races for up to eight players. Powered by Unreal Engine 5, Overpass 2 sees Belgian studio Neopica take over from Sweden’s Zordix Racing, which helmed the original 2020 Overpass.
