PS Plus September games could hint at Need For Speed 2022 reveal next week

With all the recent Need for Speed 2022 rumours and leaks, fans are desperate for news on the next NFS game. NFS 2022 was rumoured to be revealed in July ahead of a November release. It’s now almost September and EA has left players in the dark, raising concerns about the state of NFS 2022’s development and a possible delay.

However, September's PlayStation Plus Essential games may hint at the NFS 2022 reveal date.

Other PS Plus Essential September games include Toem and Granblue Fantasy Versus.

NFS Heat was released in 2019 and was the last NFS game developed by EA Ghost Games before the keys were handed back to Criterion Games to work on the new NFS. This will be a great chance to revisit NFS Heat while we wait for NFS 2022 to arrive.

Does this hint at Need for Speed 2022 reveal date?

The timing of NFS Heat coming to PS Plus Essentials is likely no coincidence.

According to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb, NFS 2022 has been delayed from November to December. This suggests the reveal has also been pushed back around a month, possibly to September.

NFS Heat will be available to download for free PS Plus Essentials next week on 6 September. It would make sense for it to coincide with the long-awaited reveal of NFS 2022 on the same day.

EA has yet to share any official details, screenshots or videos of NFS 2022, but the leaks are piling up.

Last week, a Reddit user who claims to know an EA revealed new gameplay details such as classic game modes being removed. A leaked gameplay video also showed NFS 2022’s rumoured cartoon effects. Hopefully these rumours can be put to rest if NFS 2022 gets revealed next week.
