We’re just a matter of days away from jumping into Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator now, and players are wondering what to expect from the game. The game promises an authentic Barcelona cabbie experience, and part of that, of course, is the driving.
This brings an important question: Does Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator have wheel support?
The cabbie life
Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator puts you behind the wheel of a taxi in the beautiful city of Barcelona. It’s your job to transport people all over the city, getting them to where they need to be when they need to be there.
Keeping your passengers happy is no easy feat, however. Managing their different needs means you may even need to change your driving style to keep the tips rolling in. That or just turn down the radio a little and answer a few questions along the way!
Not only are you a driver, but you’re also in charge of managing your very own taxi company, hiring drivers, maintaining your cars, and allocating schedules. This is simulated right down to which cars are better used on certain routes at certain times of the day.
So Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator is a pretty in-depth taxi simulator, with many factors to think about whilst driving. Because of this, players have been asking if the game will feature wheel support to increase immersion.

For those looking to use their sim rigs to earn a bit of extra cash as a cabbie, we have good news and bad news.
Developers Simterect confirmed in a development blog that Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator will have wheel support for most major wheels on the market. In the blog, they state that the game was tested with the Logitech 920, with promising results.
"We are small developers and we start from the major models. We will probably add more in the future. But yes, we want to add steering wheel support," lead game designer Andrzej Chrzabowski confirmed in a recent developer showcase.
However, community manager Mike Shines confirmed on Discord that Taxi Life will only have wheel support on PC at launch. This means console players on PlayStation and Xbox won't be able to play Taxi Life with a wheel when it launches. Shines says more information about whether wheel support will be added to the console versions will be available "later down the line."
Along with wheels, the game will also support pedals and even gear shifters on PC. This means players will be fully immersed as they cruise around the city of Barcelona, with certain passengers requesting smooth acceleration and gear changes, as well as indicating before making turns.
Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator is shaping up to be exactly that: a true simulator. With so many factors for players to monitor as they drive around, it’ll be just like going for a drive around Barcelona for real.
