Genki has officially disclosed the full release date of the game. The cult classic racing franchise, which has been in early access since January 2025 via Steam Early Access, will be officially released on September 25, 2025.

The game will be priced at $49.99, but players who already own the Early Access will receive the full version at no extra cost.

What's new in the full release?

Tokyo Xtreme Racer's complete launch will add these features to the game:

  • New Cars: The lineup will expand significantly with the addition of long-awaited JDM icons like the Nissan GT-R R35, Toyota GR Supra, Lexus LC500, and Honda NSX, alongside classics like the Skyline 2000GT-R and Civic Type R.
  • New Parts & Customization: Additional tuning options and upgrades to help racers find their machines.
  • Fresh Rivals & Story Content: A new chapter and rival battles extend the highway drama.
  • Gameplay Balance Adjustments: Tweaks based on feedback from the Early Access community.

This update builds on earlier additions like a dedicated photo mode, expanded visual customization, and the introduction of oil and water temperature mechanics for improved realism.

However, despite all this, some features are still being held back. Genki has decided to postpone replays to make sure the feature is flawless before it goes live. Online leaderboards have also been delayed due to cheat prevention concerns, with the studio stressing that fairness takes priority over rushing features.
