Trackmania is all about high-speed time-trial racing and track creation. 2020 saw the release of a new entry simply titled Trackmania, a free-to-play live service reboot with paid subscriptions.
Since it launched in July 2020, Trackmania has been available on the Epic Games Store or Uplay. But not for much longer.
Trackmania Steam release date
Ubisoft Nadeo has announced Trackmania is finally racing onto Steam, three years after the original release.
Its release date is imminent too, as Trackmania is set to arrive on Steam in just over one week on 2 February. In the meantime, you can Wishlist the game on Steam now.
There’s more good news: Trackmania may also be playable on Steam Deck.
When asked by a fan user if you can play Trackmania on Steam Deck, the official Trackmania Twitter account said “it should be compatible” but will “need to go through the review process.”
We hope it will be playable on Steam Deck as Trackmania’s simple, fast-paced and addictive time attack gameplay is perfectly suited for playing on the go.
Trackmania coming to consoles this year
As well as Steam, the Trackmania reboot is also coming to consoles this year including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One. Like the PC release, Trackmania will be free-to-play with the option to upgrade to premium plans.
This gives access to regular events as well as social features allowing players to form clubs, create and share car customisations, enter private rooms, and create new campaigns and competitions.
In addition, Trackmania’s console debut will introduce cross-play and cross-progression across all platforms, including PC. At launch, players can download more than 280,000 custom tracks created by the community since launch.
There’s no release date yet, but the console version is slated for “early 2023” according to Ubisoft.
