With two weeks left in the group stage of the V10 R League, teams are getting desperate to make their mark and secure a playoff spot.
Group A is starting to get tense now, and every dropped point is crucial especially after Red Bull claimed victory over group leaders Aston Martin last week.
This week sees Season 1 champions Redline take on the new boys in the paddock, R8G Esports. Can they challenge the front runners?
Still looking for pace
R8G has arrived in V10 R-League as complete rookies. While McLaren over in Group B has a lead driver in James Baldwin that competed in Season 1, albeit just for one race, the R8G team has come in completely fresh and had to get up to speed.
It's safe to say they haven't quite found their feet yet. While Erhan Jajovski has been within touching distance of others, his teammates Samuel Libeert and Thomas Petitjean are a few tenths off. Two matches into their V10 R-League careers things are starting to improve, but will it be enough to compete with the champs?
Relentless performance
Redline has been imperious this season. Seven points from two matches, including that cleansweep against Red Bull, has them in a commanding position.
Enzo Bonito has bedded into the team really well, and the experience of Jeffery Rietveld and Michal Smidl has served the team's strategy very well.
Redline won't be looking past R8G, but if they were ever going to take an opponent lightly, it will be the new boys.
Prediction
If R8G doesn't veto Mugello, then expect Redline to pick that track and do their usual boxing out job.
Jajovski will need to be on point this week and putting his R8G car on pole for the team races if they are to get anything out of this match.
It's likely that R8G will pick Monza as their home track, as the slipstream and chaos of that circuit adds some unpredictability, which would certainly help the underdogs. However, Redline has looked pretty untouchable this season, and we just can't look past them here.
Prediction: Redline 4-0 R8G Esports
