One finalist is aleady decided, but who will be joining Aston Martin to fight it out for the top prize?
Table of Contents
Redline is aiming to retain their title, but BMW has looked strong all season. Only one can progress while the other will go into the 3rd/4th playoff.
Synergy at BMW
The German team got past YAS Heat by the skin of their teeth in the quarter-final stage, but now that they are here they won't want to fall short.
Led by Kevin Siggy and the ever-improving Michael Romanidis, the BMW side had bags of pace throughout the group stage and were seemingly in total command.
However, they came unstuck against McLaren, and are now facing off against the reigning champs, arguably the strongest three-man lineup in the V10 R-League.
They aren't used to the role of underdogs, but will need to embrace that mentality in this one.
Unbeatable Redline?
From the very start of Season 1 the Redline team has produced incredible racing and unrivaled pace. That carried on this year, even as they moved Enzo Bonito into the lineup and other big names entered the series.
After four wins from four in the group stage they reach the Semi-Final brimming with confidence and are the clear favourites to take the Season 2 crown back home with them.
No team is unbeatable though, as Aston Martin proved when they dispatched McLaren. One mistake is all it takes to drop a point and leave the door open for your opponent.
Prediction
How can you possibly pick against Redline? There are only a few surprises BMW could pull here, with Yas Marina being the obvious wildcard, but we expect Redline to be prepared for everything.
Both teams can get rather forceful in wheel-to-wheel combat, so there is always the chance that chaos ensues, and from that either side could emerge.
The issue for BMW is that their third driver Alen Terzic has been a step off the pace of Siggy & Romanidis, while the Redline trio of Michal Smidl, Jeffrey Rietveld, and Enzo Bonito are all capable of disappearing into the distance in any race.
Prediction: Redline 3-1 BMW
