Virtual British GP Drivers: Russell, Latifi, & Albon to race this weekend

The Virtual GP paddock leaves the Austrian mountains and hits the glorious tarmac of Silverstone this weekend.

The first batch of drivers have been announced, and as expected there is a good mix of current and future F1 talent and some celebrity faces in there.

Let's see who will be taking part in the race on Sunday.

Virtual British GP drivers

It's no surprise to see the usual F1 faces signed up for the Virtual GP this weekend.

Nicholas Latifi and Alex Albon return, as does George Russell who was a late withdrawal from last weekend's event.

Russell, who dominated the 2020 Virtual GPs, will be looking to leave his mark in this race after the Austrian one was a showcase of future F1 stars.

Familiar faces

There are other drivers that should be familiar to F1 fans returning this weekend.

Alfa Romeo will be continuing with F1 fanatic and Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as well as FIFA content creator Pie Face, who both put in strong displays last weekend.

The Fittipaldi brothers are back for Haas and will look to increase their lead at the top of the team standings, which is how the $100,000 charity prize fund will be split up.

Also returning is the AlphaTauri pair of Vitantonio Liuzzi and Luca Salvadori.

New challengers approach

While both Marcus Armstrong and Arthur Leclerc performed well in Austria, Ferrari are sending in two new drivers this weekend.

Both members of the Ferrari Driver Academy and 2020 Formula 2 title contenders, Callum Ilott and Robert Shwartzman will be a formidable force in the scarlet cars at Silverstone.

Red Bull will be putting Junior team member Liam Lawson in with Albon. Lawson will be getting coached up this week by Red Bull's F1 Esports star Marcel Kiefer.

Over at Alpine, France's biggest YouTuber Squeezie will be making his Virtual GP debut.
