World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing gets new gameplay trailer

For the first time in over ten years, the World of Outlaws dirt racing series is getting an officially-licensed game. World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing was announced back in April and is in development by Monster Games. It’s the studio’s first game since being acquired by iRacing.

Following the announcement trailer, Motorsport Games has released a new World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing gameplay trailer along with new details.

The new gameplay trailer shows a variety of dirt racing classes in aciton. World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing will feature six different dirt series, from the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Cars and CASE Construction Equipment Late Models to four DIRTcar classes.

Car classes include World of Outlaws 410 Sprint Car, 360 Sprint Car, 305 Sprint Car, World of Outlaws, Super Late Model, Pro Late Model, and Street Stock. There will also be more than 40 tracks, including Eldora Speedway, Knoxville Raceway, and Volusia Speedway Park. 13 tracks are officially licensed, while the remaining tracks “pay homage to the soul of dirt racing in America.”

After launch, additional DLC will add the Limaland Motorsports Park, Federated Auto Parts Raceway, and Lucas Oil Speedway circuits, along with two DIRTcar classes: UMP Modifieds and Super DIRTcar Big Block Modifieds.

Notably, World of Outlaws: Dirt Racing uses assets from iRacing for the first time in a console racing game. Assets from iRacing include car and track models, as well as sounds and multiplayer technology. The physics model is also tuned by iRacing, while the AI has been tweaked to make the opponents more competitive.

The new Career Mode sees drivers start as a rookie and work their way up to the national World of Outlaws tours. Any available car can be raced in Career Mode at any time. There is also a new Car Creator with more layers and shapes, allowing players to design their own liveries.

Release date

World of Outlaws will be released on 27 September for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, an Xbox One.

Pre-orders are now open on the game's official website, with three-time World of Outlaws Sprint Car champion Sammy Swindell included as an exclusive pre-order bonus. There’s no word yet if World of Outlaws will be released outside of the US, but it seems unlikely.
