WRC 10: Historic mode, legendary cars and iconic rallies

The release of WRC 10 is just around the corner - and this year's game promises to be extra special.

The World Rally Championship is preparing to celebrate its 50th season in 2022. That means WRC 10 will offer players a unique anniversary edition, filled to the brim with new features.

One of those will be a retrospective Historic Mode, allowing rally fans to get a taste of WRC through the ages!

WRC 10: Historic Mode

Fans of the WRC series will be used to seeing historic cars in the various editions of the game. Last year’s Deluxe Edition of WRC 9, for example, gave players the chance to get behind the wheel of the lovely 1999 Toyota Corolla.

But this year’s WRC 10 promises even more by offering player’s a retrospective History Mode, giving you the chance to relive a host of rallies from years gone by, as well as get behind an incredible 22 iconic cars from the last 50 years.

DON'T CUT: WRC 10 promises plenty of new features

Perhaps the most interesting aspect will be the 20+ challenges on offer. This will likely be in the form of real WRC scenarios that have happened in the last 50 years. These challenges have been categorised into five distinct eras of the WRC:

  • First years
  • Group B
  • Group A
  • WRC
  • Modern WRC

Legendary cars

As we mentioned above, there will be 22 legendary cars available to drive in WRC 10; the oldest being the 1973 Alpine A110, which won six rallies along with the world championship in the WRC’s first official season.

There’s plenty of other favourites here too, including a host of Group B monsters like the Audi Quattro and Peugeot 205 T16. Nostalgia addicts will love Colin McRae’s beautiful 1997 Subaru Impreza WRC and Tommi Makinen’s Mitsubishi Lancer Evo V. There’s even the quaint Fiat 131 Abarth on offer, presumably with the iconic Alitalia livery.
