WRC Generations will support cross-platform play for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox

For the first time in the series, WRC Generations will have crossplay support across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms, as confirmed in a social media post on the official WRC game Twitter page.

In a welcome move, PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players will be able to race with other players around the world in WRC Generation, no matter which platform they are using. This was not possible in previous WRC games.

Not every mode in WRC Generations will support crossplay, however.

An image shared on the WRC game Twitter page confirms that Clubs, Leaderboards, Driver Cards, Leagues, Ghosts, Teams, Catalogue, and in-game friend lists will have cross-platform support on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Multiplayer lobbies, Split-Screen, and the two-player Co-Driver modes will not benefit from crossplay, however.

This means you won’t be able to create a quick game, find or create a lobby with players on other platforms but you can still race with other players in Clubs, Teams, and Leagues modes.

Release date

WRC Generations is just around the corner. Following a delay, Kylotonn’s final WRC game will be released on 3 November for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch version coming later.

Pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition gives players two days early access to the game on 1 November.

As Kylotonn’s last WRC game before the license is handed to Codemasters, WRC Generations is set to end the series on a high, with 165 special stages across 21 locations, new Rally1 hybrid cars, and a new Leagues mode.
