Bugbear Entertainment has dropped the third early access content update for Wreckfest 2, bringing new vehicles, track layouts, smarter AI, and the first stage of telemetry support to the demolition racer. The update is now live for PC players.

So, let's find out everything about it.

New Cars

Two fresh additions join the garage. The Switchback, a brutish 1970s-style American muscle car, is designed for Ross's straight powerline and heavy impacts.

The next one is the Popper, a tiny European hatchback that looks like an old Fiat 500. Despite being small, this folk racing machine can still cause chaos if underestimated.

New Tracks and Layouts

Headlining the circuit updates is Cannonhill, a brand-new folk racing track with both forward and reverse layouts. It's a resemblance to Finland's Kouvola Circuit, popular for rallycross action with a mix of gravel, asphalt, and banked corners.

Additional layouts have also been added to all of the current locations. Scrapyard gets three more variations, including her Figure 8, while Savolax, Speedway, and European Rallycross also benefit from new configurations, ensuring variety for races and crashes.

Smarter AI

This version includes significant improvements to the AI. Players can now choose between Novice, Amateur, and Expert difficulty; opponents are faster and more perceptive to other vehicles and are able to give up when involved in prolonged collisions. These changes should make offline races more competitive and unpredictable.

Telemetry Support

Telemetry support has been added for the first time. The solution enables data visualization and establishes the foundation for motion compatibility through its partnership with SimHub. For players who want to integrate Wreckfest 2 with advanced sim-racing setups, this could be an essential step.

Other Improvements

Besides all the above features, Bugbear has included several quality-of-life improvements. Gameplay damage is now consistent regardless of the frame rate. Input lag has been reduced in multiplayer, new sound effects improve immersion across surfaces and environments, and online play got a boost with chat integration, misconduct reporting, and improved race transitions.
