The sim-racing experience you can get from Assetto Corsa is only complete with Virtual Reality. So, with the many options available out there, which VR headset should you choose for Assetto Corsa?
Here's what we recommend for you, these are our top picks!
Oculus Quest 2
The Oculus Quest 2 has to be one of our favourite picks, and for great reasons. Firstly, having a relatively inexpensive price point, starting at £299, is one of its biggest strengths!
Additionally, the Quest 2 runs at a minimum of 90Hz refresh rate, with a stunning 3664×1920 display, and a 100 degrees field of view. It is also wireless, which is a cool bonus!
The Quest 2 is truly one of the best options, being cheap and offering amazing quality. So, you just cannot go wrong with it. It's really straightforward to set up, and in case you run into any trouble, the support site will be a valuable asset to you.
Additionally, the Quest 2 is set to get support in the future, unlike the Oculus Rift S and Quest 1. Facebook is discontinuing the latter two headsets in favour of the Quest, which goes to show how much they believe in the model.
HTC Vive Pro 2
If budget isn't an issue for you, then we would like to recommend the HTC Vive Pro 2 for you. Despite what you may have heard, this headset provides the best quality of visuals out there.
Having an incredible resolution of 4896 x 2448, with a 120Hz refresh rate, the Vive Pro 2 looks stunning.
The Vive Pro 2, as we mentioned, is pricey at around £700 (including all the parts). One of the main downsides of this peripheral is the fact that you may have to spend on additional pieces.
It does give you the option to mix and match parts, but that might be daunting for some.
Which VR for Assetto Corsa is for you?
There are plenty of other VR headset options out there for you, and choosing one may be a tough task. We gave you our top 2 options depending on your budget to narrow it down for you. But, that doesn't that you shouldn't explore your other options if you want!
Don't forget that you're going to need to get your hands on some peripherals, such as a wheel and pedals, to get the full experience.
We hope that you have a better idea now of what you want to cop to get into the cockpit and race in Assetto Corsa. If you're on the fence about whether you want to get into AC VR or not, you can check our beginner's guide.
