V10 R-League team Yas Heat announce Microsoft partnership

The V10 R-League roared into life this year and delivered wild racing and sensational entertainment to millions around the world.

The first season wrapped up in thrilling fashion in October, as Porsche24 Redline held off a late charge from Williams Esports to claim the title.

Those that lost out on the title seem to already be taking aim at the champs.

Yas Heat announce Microsoft partnership

Yas Heat, the youngest team to compete in the V10 R-League, has today announced a deal with Microsoft UAE to be their technology partner.

The particulars of the deal are unknown, but they are sure to give Yas Heat a boost as they head into 2021.

Having such a strong technology partner will only aid their efforts to climb the standings of every esports tournament they compete in.

Upset-makers

Yas Heat may not have been a title contender in the first season of the V10 R-League, but they did more than enough to leave a mark.

They snatched a point from Williams in the second round, leaving the UK-based team constantly playing catch-up at the top of the table.

They then scored their first victory of the season at the famous Nordschleife, knocking off Fordzilla.

They also defended their home soil in fine fashion, taking a 2-1 win over BWT Racing Point at the Yas Marina circuit.

While they are a team without the predigree of a Redline or Red Bull, they more than held their own in the heat of battle.

V10 R-League season 2

The next season of V10 R-League is expected to kick off in early 2021.

The league is the creation of Gfinity, world leaders in esports tournaments, and Abu Dhabi Motorsport Management.

After airing to a huge audience across the UK, USA, and Middle-east, season 1 saw Porsche24 Redline hold off Williams to take first place a big chunk of the £100,000 prize pool on offer to the eight teams.

Team Principal of Porsche24 Redline, Diederik Kinds, said: “It has been a great season for us with fantastic results, also very tough battles. We believe we fought hard for every single point out there.

“We did have a comfortable lead going into the final, and we only needed one heat win to seal the deal. However, it would have been very easy to lose to Williams so we had to be switched on and do our best.

Our dedication has been very strong, with our eyes always on the prize. We gave everything to win this championship.”
