Recently developers Turn 10 gave fans an update on Forza Motorsport. The news article mainly focused on the game's achievement list and preload information, but hidden amongst the details was the news every Forza fan has been waiting for.
Turn 10 has officially revealed that Forza Motorsport has gone gold. This means the game has been submitted ready for disc pressing ahead of publishing. Although not signalling the end of development, going gold usually means the game is effectively in a state ready for release.
Forza Motorsport release date
Announced as being "in early stages of development" in July 2020, all eyes have been on Forza Motorsport for the last three years.
Turn 10's track racer was given a Spring 2023 release window in late 2022, but this was soon revised to just "2023". We finally have a firm release date for the reignition of the Xbox-exclusive franchise.
During the Xbox Games Showcase, Turn 10 announced that Forza Motorsport will launch on 10 October 2023 for Xbox Series X|S and PC. The game will be available on day one on Xbox Game Pass, but PC players can also buy it on Steam.
There is also a Premium Edition of the game, which means...
Most games release multiple editions, with at least one coming with early access. Fortunately for players, Forza Motorsport is no exception.
In total, there are three Forza Motorsport editions: Standard, Deluxe and Premium. If you want to play Forza Motorsport earlier, pre-ordering the Premium Edition unlocks the game five days earlier on 5 October 2023.
In addition, the Premium Edition also includes the following extras:

- VIP Membership
- Welcome Pack
Will Forza Motorsport be on Xbox One?
Players will need at a minimum an Xbox Series S to play Forza Motorsport. The Series S console will be able to give you Forza Motorsport at 1080p/60fps, but if you want the whole 4k/60 experience you will need an Xbox Series X. Sadly, despite the power of the Series X, there won't be a 120 fps option on Microsoft's flagship console.
Despite the game running best on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One owners won't be left behind. Forza Motorsport will be playable on Xbox One, but players will need a Game Pass Ultimate subscription to stream it on Xbox Cloud Gaming beta.
Forza Motorsport is also available on PC, via both Steam and the Microsoft Store.
